Jeremy Layner, 30, has been selected as Firefighter of the Year at the Parkersburg Fire Department. Layner joined the fire department in 2010 and currently works at Fire Station 5 on Blizzard Drive.
Layner has spent much time on Blizzard Drive. He is a graduate of Parkersburg South High School. While there, he was a very prominent wrestler and currently serves as an assistant wrestling coach for the 18 time state champion Patriots.
“Jeremy has an attitude of excellence and that is evident in everything that he does,” said Fire Chief Eric Taylor. “He is proud to be a Parkersburg firefighter and we are glad to have him.”
