A representative from Pierce, the manufacturer of the department’s new ladder truck, will be training the department on the ladder’s operations and functions. The representative flew in from Appleton, Wisconsin to offer the training. It is Pierce’s policy to send a representative to conduct training. The department will have the training for three days. Each day the instructor will go over the same information, allowing the firefighters on duty to learn how to operate the truck safely. The majority of the training will be focused on ladder operations. After the formal training is complete, the truck will be put into service. The new ladder truck will be housed at Station #5 on Blizzard Drive.
