Fire department responds to house fire.

Story:

At 10:12 am, the Parkersburg Fire Department responded to 563 6th St. for a structure fire. Crews were on scene within minutes of the initial call. Upon arrival, units found the fire had been mostly extinguished by the resident of the apartment with a garden hose. The fire department opened walls and the downstairs ceiling to look for extension. The fire originated on the porch of the second floor apartment. The fire investigator has ruled the fire as accidental, due to discarded smoking materials.
