Explosives Canine

The Parkersburg Fire Department maintains an Explosive Ordinance Canine program. The dog is handled by Inspector Mike Beckett (Retired).

The “bomb dog” team is responsible for conducting both live and pre-event explosives sweeps. Although primarily for the benefit of the citizens of Wood County, the team has responded to requests from other school and public safety agencies around West Virginia and Ohio.

Responses for the team are coordinated through the Wood County 9-1-1 Center.
